Our History

Evanston Capital was founded in 2002 by Adam Blitz (CEO and CIO), Ken Meister (President and COO), Ryan Cahill (Business Development & Client Service), and David Wagner (former CIO of the Northwestern University endowment and now honorary Chairman). The firm's fifth employee, Kristen VanGelder, joined in 2003 and is the firm's deputy CIO. Today, Evanston Capital is a fully independent, employee-owned asset management firm, with equity ownership distributed among 14 of its 28 employees.

We have evaluated and invested in a wide array of specialized hedge fund strategies since our inception in 2002 and we continuously apply our expertise in new ways to meet the needs of our clients. In 2015 we began investing in private equity and venture strategies. Today, our client solutions also include investments in niche strategies, including blockchain venture funds and thematic international small cap equities (long-only).
