Our History

Our History

ECM was founded in 2002 by David Wagner, formerly the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Northwestern University. David was joined by three additional founders – Adam Blitz, Ken Meister, and Ryan Cahill – who provided complementary skill sets from both an investing and operational perspective. We have grown our team to 26 total employees and have named three additional Principals of ECM. We believe all of our team members have added depth and breadth to ECM’s investment processes and operations.

As of November 1, 2020, we have approximately $3.5 billion in assets under management and 165 institutional investor relationships. ECM investors are primarily institutional investors, along with family offices, and high net worth investors. We are familiar with serving and understanding the needs of institutional investors such as endowments, foundations, corporate pension plans, public pension plans, and multi-employer plans.
